WEST LONDON Rugby Club

The year 2000 marks the founding of West London Rugby Club via the merger of Old Gaytonians' (1934), Roxeth Manor (1960) and Old Kingsburians' (1962). The club continues the traditions of the founding clubs in providing competitive, social rugby in the West London area, priding ourselves on our welcoming and social environment for players, members, families, friends and supporters.

Our main priority is to build camaraderie among our members to ensure rugby is played and enjoyed among friends. Post-match socials, club events, and home and overseas tours are all essential elements of our club's character. This all feeds into a desire to maintain a competitive edge, whether at training or on the field come the weekend. And the hard work throughout the 2023/24 season paid off that saw us crowned as Middlesex Merit Table Division 3 champions.

what to expect at west London RUGBY CLUB

The rugby club welcomes players all abilities and experiences, ranging from novices to seasoned and skilled players. Our first team (1XV) competes in Middlesex Merit Table Division 2, while the second team (2XV) is our feeder team to the first team. In addition, we have a Vets team that we mobilise occasionally throughout the season, limbs permitting. Finally, during the off-season, we run a Sevens team.

Training sessions, whether for 15s or 7s, are on Wednesday's at 19:00 at our home ground. Our 15s sessions are under the supervision of Director of Rugby Andy Flavin. The focus is on team tactics, cohesion, fitness, and skills. On the other hand, our 7s sessions are under the direction of Club Captain and legend Richie Parillon. If you are interested in joining the club for playing opportunities (15s or 7s) or pre-season training, contact our Team Manager, Dave Williams.

People always say that rugby changes their life. For me, West London RFC has changed mine. When I became a part of this club, the honourable old boys welcomed me with open arms and took care of me. And now, the club's youth brings an energy and enthusiasm that makes it a truly exceptional and special club.

— Richie Parillon is the Club Captain and record cap-holder of West London, having joined the club at the age of 18.

Players & MEMBERS from OVER 20 Nations

West London Rugby Club truly personifies a global spirit. Our members come from all walks, heritages, countries and continents. We are proud to have had players from Japanese and Zimbabwean internationals to former rugby league professionals and enthusiastic amateurs. Regardless of nationality, our members come from diverse backgrounds and include working professionals, students studying at London universities, and friends and family of current members.

I could not wish to have found a better club. Amazing teammates, great coaches and a friendly & supportive environment throughout the club. You will struggle to find a better place to spend your Wednesdays and Saturdays.

— Andrea Lorenzi (28), moved to London from Italy and wanted to play rugby again.

Go on Tour with The Onions & Crazy Horses

We are passionate about touring and have visited various destinations, from the beaches of Bournemouth to cities known for their love for rugby across Europe. Our tour destinations include Città di Castello, Rome, Paris, Dublin, and Zagreb. Earn your stripes with The Crazy Horses — our 7s tour team — or become an official Onion, an exclusive touring side since the mid-1980s.

Comprehensive, Modern Playing & Social Facilities

Our club offers excellent facilities for our members to enjoy, including a dedicated clubhouse, subsidised bar and grill, on-site changing rooms, a floodlit training area, a scrum machine, and a perfectly manicured match pitch — you will often see the groundsman outside pruning the pitch with scissors. You can also catch all the live sports action on our high-definition big-screen TV inside the club bar. Lastly, tucked in the corner, a dozen-plus well-preserved vintage old boys.

You can find us at: London Marathon Playing Field Greenford, Birkbeck Avenue, Greenford, UB6 8LS.

From the beginning, West London welcomed me, despite having never played rugby. My coaches and teammates have helped me develop and improve as a player to complete my transition from an ex-footballer to a rugby player.

— Josh Baker (18) had never played rugby but has taken to the game quickly in a short space of time.
