West London Rugby Club was established in 2000, following the merger of Old Gaytonians' (1934), Roxeth Manor (1960), and Old Kingsburians' (1962) rugby clubs. Our focus throughout the rugby club is on camaraderie, that rugby is played and enjoyed amongst friends. Central too is the urge to maintain a competitive edge, whether at training or on the field come the weekend. Accordingly, post-match socials, club social events and club tours, both at home and abroad, are a focal part of the club's character.
The club attracts players of all abilities and experiences, from seasoned players to people new to rugby. They all play in one of our two club sides: the 1XV (Middlesex Merit Table Division 3) and the 2XV (Middlesex Merit Table Division 5). As a club, we also host 2-3 Vets fixtures in a season and, in the summer months, have a Sevens team under the stewardship of Club Captain and Sevens Coach Richie Parillon. West London Rugby Club, in every sense, is a truly global team. Our international players complement the club's local and indigenous players and members. Regardless of nationality, you will find a mix of working professionals, students studying at London universities, and friends and family of existing members. Training sessions take place on Wednesdays (19:00) under the watchful eye of Director of Rugby Andy Flavin, with a focus on team tactics and cohesion, fitness and light skills work. Our facilities include a dedicated clubhouse with a subsidised bar/grill and on-site changing facilities. A floodlit training area & scrum machine, and a perfectly-manicured match pitch (you will often see the groundsman outside pruning the pitch with a pair of scissors). A big screen with Sky & BT Sport showing domestic and international games. Finally, a dozen-plus well preserved and vintage old boys.
